My Week in Pics – Start Gently

This week I was sick. Boo.

So was the little dude. Bigger boo!

Which meant my adventures had to be a little bit simpler. I cancelled a trip to Melbourne, spent some time recuperating, helping the little guy sleep, and hanging with my madre…

On Monday I realised the sickness was coming. Chachi was in good spirits but had puffy eyes. The hubster and I spent Monday night keeping each other awake, snorting and snuffling.

I cancelled my trip to Melbourne and put the call out for quick cold solutions! One response is the neti pot. I’ve heard of them before, but never used on. You literally pour the salt water in one nostril and it comes out the other. Snot, begone! It grossed me out a bit if I’m honest. I took a picture of me actually using the pot, but decided it was a bit grim to share. So here’s the pot.

Another sick day, with things improving a bit. Two birthday presents arrived today, so I’m going on a clean eating, healthy cooking craze! #projectMILF eat your heart out.

I heart the Conscious Club, and I go whenever I can. Tonight they had Sebastian Terry of 100 Things, totally appropriate since I just published my list of 100 things to do in 2014. It was a great talk, starting with the story of Sebastian away travelling, being told that a friend back home and died and realising that he was lost and didn’t know what he wanted out of life. He started doing things that would make him happy and a movement started. Now he helps give people permission to do what they love, and live a life of happiness. From following what he loved to creating something much bigger than himself, spreading joy around the globe.

I love this picture of his excuses. We all have them, we all use them. What are yours? Mine is usually fear. Of rejection, not being liked, unhappiness (oh the irony!).

I had a date with the hubster and the child on Friday night, we strolled to the seaside and ate fish beside it after a beautiful sunset stroll. Be-ea-autiful.

I had a massive pass out on Saturday night, and was out until 1am pretending I’m still young with my great mate. We drank too many cocktails and we laughed a LOT.

On Sunday, I had my first hangover since 1 January 2013, and was reminded that I do not enjoy them. I pulled myself together and spent the afternoon in the sun by the harbour in Watsons Bay with a bunch of lovely ladies! Then I went to bed very early.

Now over to you.

What adventures will you have this week? Share your pics on Instagram using the hashtag #theeverydayadventure.

I’ll see you out there having fun!

xx Sam
